Rose Lytle and The Sewing Loft workroom
The Sewing Loft started in 1999 as a home-based business making window treatments, pillows and gifts. Today it is a workroom and fabric shop at 2105 Lawn Ave. in Norwood, working with many designers and individual clients to transform their homes.
From a home business to Lawn Ave.
1999
A home business
Window treatments, pillows and gifts, made at home.
As the client base grew
A third-floor loft workroom
Became a designer's main resource for custom window treatments, pillows, cushion covers and bedding.
January 2013
3704 Eastern Ave.
The workroom moved here and kept taking classes with industry experts on new techniques.
June 2021
2105 Lawn Ave., Norwood
More workroom space, which made room to add upholstery and fabrics.
The Lawn Ave. move changed what the shop could do
The June 2021 move gave the workroom more space, which is how upholstery and fabrics joined the window treatments, pillows, cushion covers and bedding. The shop now carries a large assortment of fabric, including indoor/outdoor cloth and fabrics suited to upholstery, drapery, bedding, pillows and cushions.
The door is open by appointment or by chance, so call or text before you come by to choose fabric for your next project.
